Announcement on the Adjustment of the Consular Jurisdiction of Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in the United States of America

The People’s Republic of China and the United States of America have reached agreement on adjustment of the consular jurisdiction of the Embassy and Consulates General of both countries simultaneously through consultation. 

The adjusted consular jurisdiction of Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in the United States of America are as follows:

 

Chinese Embassy:

Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Delaware;

States Used to be under the Chinese Consulate General in Houston:

Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Texas, Puerto Rico

 

Chinese Consulate General in New York:

Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Rhode Island

 

Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco :

Northern California, Alaska, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming

 

Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles :

Southern California , Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado,Hawaii , U.S. Pacific islands including Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands and American Samoa

 

Chinese Consulate General in Chicago :

Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota

 

The Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in the United States of America will perform consular functions in the respective consular jurisdictions as of the date of announcement.
